No two people carry the Thread in quite the same way. What a bearer can do depends on their age, their nature, their practice, and their will. Nobody can do everything.

Some gifts arrive quietly, before a bearer even knows what they have: sharper senses, a feel for weather before it turns, the faint tremble of footsteps through stone, a body that shrugs off poison. Some bearers can glow blue when they choose to, which is lovely and very hard to hide.

With time and freedom, most bearers grow into a few more. Moving things without touching them is the best known. Others coax plants to grow, mend their own hurts faster than they should, see in near darkness, or calm a frightened animal.

Healing someone else is harder. The Thread has to reach out into a body that is not its own, and the work is close and draining. The strongest healers are rare, and most bearers never come near it.
